I firmly believe that ANYONE, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, or religion can not only understand but find beauty, empowerment, and joy in mathematics. I am committed to making my office and classrooms (including virtual) safe spaces where everyone's questions are heard and everyone's ideas are respected.
Unfortunately, this is not the reality that many people experience within the mathematical community. Here are some of the programs I am involved with to try to make mathematics more inclusive.
POSSE program for supporting underrepresented and first-generation college students pursuing science and math.
CSU Math Bridge Summer Program for masters and advanced undergraduate students at Cal State who are interested in applying to PhD programs.
New York Academy of Sciences 1000 Girls 1000 Futures Program supporting and mentoring high-school-aged girls from around the world and encouraging their careers in STEM fields
